Om Sri Sai Kaalaa Theethaya Namah Om. Nanasaheb Chandorkar was very fond of visiting Holy places and pilgrim centers. Once he was going to visit a Ganesh temple at a village named Padamalya. The train was late and it began to get dark. To reach Ganesh temple, one had to walk in the forest for eight miles starting from 8 P.M. onwards. The priest of that temple was a sadhu named Govindbhav. He usually stayed in the temple until 10 pm after which he licked the temple and went to his math, which was at a distance from the temple. Chandorkar knew this fact. we cannot reach the temple before 10 pm There is no other accommodation other than the temple. If the priest goes away who is to take care of us. He thought. He also thought that he would be contented if he got a cup of t least when he reached the temple at 10 30 pm, along with his friends. All sat down at the temple, all tired. As they did not inform about their arrival, they were sure that they would get no food that day. Meanwhile, the priest Govindbhav came there and asked,Has Nanasaheb Chandorkar come Everyone was shocked listening to this. Nanasaheb asked him how he knew his name and about his arrival. He said, Saibaba of SHIRDI had sent a word through someone a few minutes ago to prepare tea for Nana. He brought tea and offered it to all of them. They rejoiced eulogizing Babas Power, Mercy, and Love ....................."............. ............. ................ OM. Within few months after Nana Saheb came to Baba, a plague epidemic broke out in Ahmadnagar.. Government employed special medical teams to vaccinate people against it to which people restrained, as they feared that they would die off ever. The District Collector ordered all the Government officials to take the vaccinations first so to instil courage in the general public. Though Nanasaheb encouraged other people to take the vaccination, he personally was afraid of taking it. He went to SHIRDI and prayed to Baba to save him. Baba said, Nana, Why Fear when I Am Here. Go and take the vaccination bravely.. You wii be neither in any danger nor be afflicted by fever. He followed Babas advice to set an ideal to the public and did not suffer from any fever or pain. "................... ................... ........,, Om. One day Kaka Dixit prostrated to Baba and sat down. Meanwhile, Baba stared into the sky and said, Array Kaka, Thula Kajalimala Sarkaalji Ahe. Meaning Kak, Why are you worried when I am here to shoulder all your burdens.. Not knowing the real reason behind this, Dixit said, Lord what You said is true. All our burdens are Yours. Who else other than you can uplift us. At the same time his little daughter, while playing in the house, went near the almirah, which was in a corner. Suddenly, the almirah fell on the child. With Lord Sais grace nothing happened to her. The things inside the almirah fell around the child as if someone had placed them skillfully on the ground. Later when Dixit came home he heard about the incident and experienced the reality of Babas words full of assurance. ........... ............. .......... Om One day as Khaparde approached Baba, Baba said, Child, what did you do in the morning How did you spend your time That morning Khaparde conversed about worldly matters but did not think of God at all. Realizing that this was the reason Baba asked him thus, he hung his head in shame. Later Baba said, Child, in this infinite length of time, the length of our life is not even equal to second. It is very difficult to get the human birth again and again. What is the purpose of ones life if one does not indulge oneself repeating Godsname during that period of life time when Intellect, Wisdom, power of Discrimination and sense organs are all intact Time is very unkind. Every moment time fritters away. The demon of time cares none. Therefore, utilize all the time for the Lord and be liberated. Do not waste even a minute of this precious life. Baba taught him this lovingly. How fortunate was Sri Khaparde toreceive this nectarine updesh first hand. Om Sri Sai Bhoot Bhavishyadi Bhavaniram varnitaye Namah W8th Babas permission, Nana Sahel Dangale brought a wooden plank about four cubits in length only a span in breadth for Baba to sleep on. Instead of keeping it on the floor, Baba tied it like a swing to the rafters of the Masjid with torn worn out thin old shreds or rags. On the four corners of the plank, Baba placed lighted Panamas. Devotees found it very peculiar. The rags were so worn out that they could hardly bear the weight of the plank. On that one span breadth plank Baba Baba would sleep with four lamps burning around. This was not an ordinary wonder. To reach the plank, there was no ladder or any such instrument. Devotees could not understand as how Baba got up the plank and down from it. Out of curiosity, many devotees would gather in the Masjid to watch the process of mounting and dismounting. Though many people were present, He would be on the plank on the fixed time without even their knowledge. No one understood how it was possible for Baba. In the same manner He dismounted. Ascrowd increased, Baba was jaded and broke the plank and threw it in the dhunee. In this Lela, wooden plank is our mind. Just as the plank four cubits in length, our mind is cast of Varanasi of the purusharthas Dharam Arth Kaam and Moksha.. When desire arise in, it becomes narrow I.e., becomes only span in breadth. If such a mind is offered to God to recline on, He will hang it to divinity Masjidmayi with rags, which are symbolic of dispassionate feelings. He will then light the flames of wisdom in that little mind and recline on it. Doubts may arise, how God could recline on narrow mind and therefore, God destroys the mind and puts an end to it by burning it in the fire of wisdom. A destroyed mind a THOUGHTLESS state. This is nothing but liberation. Through this Lela Baba wonderfully proclaims to us to offer the mid and become liberated. With His Divine Grace, May all our mind become suitable for His Holy Feet to rest on. May His grace shower on us and uplift us. Dear SaiFamily, Though I want to preserve Silence in Dwarkamayi. I am tempted to write something about this Lela. In Sri Sai SatCharitra Chapter XLV When Baba explains the importance of the plank to Dixit he says,Baba if you like that plank so much I can again hang it in the Masjid for Your Divine pleasure. Baba says, I would not like to sleep on the plank while my Mhalspati lies Down on the floor. Dixit says, Baba I will hang another plank for Mhalspati also. Baba says,He who can sleep with his eyes wide open can effect that. How can he sleep on the plank. He has many good qualities in him can do so. When I go to sleep I ask often Mhalspati to sit by my side, place His hand on my Heart and watch the chanting of Name. Therefore, if he finds me sleepy, wake me up . He cant do even this. He himself gets drowsy and begins to nod his head. When I feel his hand heavy as a stone on My heart and cry out, oh Bhakta, he moves and opens his eyes. How can he, who can,t sit and sleep well on the ground and whose Asana posture is not steady and who is slave to sleep, sleep high on a plank. Our GURUDEVA is holding our hands just like he holder the Mhalspatis. SatChitAnanda walked talked and slept with his children so that they can get cleansed. Our SaiMa is ready to spend all His sukrts on us. So lets benefit each moment. He is ready to leave His plank I., simahsan and is eager to help us living in our dark hridya. How can we say THANKS to such a loving SadGuru. We love you Baba.
